What We Believe
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. The Word of God is the final authority for the Church of Jesus Christ. The Armor Bible Presbyterian Church adopts the Constitution of the Bible Presbyterian Church denomination, which contains the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms, as amended and adopted by the Synod of the Bible Presbyterian Church, as that system of doctrine which most perfectly summarizes the teaching of the Holy Scriptures.
- We believe that Scripture is verbally inspired by God, inerrent and infallible in the original autographs, and that it is the only infallible rule of faith and practice. Psa. 19:7-11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:16-21; Luke 24:15-28; John 16:12-26.
- We believe that there is one true and living GOD revealed to us in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in Power and Glory. Gen. 1:1; John 10:30; John 4:24.
- We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Eternal and Incarnate Son of GOD and the only Saviour of sinners, that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and Born of the Virgin Mary and that He unites in His Person true Deity and perfect humanity. John 1:1-14; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25.
- We believe that the substitutionary and vicarious death of Christ on the Cross provided a perfect propitiation for sinners, and that "through faith in His Blood," the value of His redemptive work is credited to the believer. Hebrews 2:9; John 6:44-69; John 3:1-18; Romans 3:15.
- We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Christ, in His present work in Heaven as Mediator, Advocate and High Priest, and in His personal, (premillennial) return as the Blessed Hope of the Church. Acts 2:32-36; I Tim. 2:5; Acts 3:12-16; Rev. 20:1-6; Heb. 9:24; I Cor. 15:12-58; Acts 1:10-11; John 14:1-4; I Thess 4:13-18.
- We believe in the Deity and personality of the Holy Spirit, and that He came on the day of Pentecost to abide in the church and to indwell all true believers of that church for their instruction, guidance and comfort. Acts 2; Acts 4:7-37; Romans 8:1-17.
- We believe that all men are sinful by nature and practice and are eternally lost apart from the saving Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Rom. 3:1-26; Rom. 6:23; John 16:8; I Cor. 3:16-17.
- We believe that men are justified by faith in the shed blood of Christ alone, and that those who are justified are also regenerated and made partakers of the Divine Nature. John 3:16; John 5:24; John 1:12; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 5:1,2; Romans 8:15-17.
- We believe that the justified and regenerated are called to a life of separation from sinful, worldly practices and also called to the service of GOD and the maintenance of good works. Matt. 16:24; Matt. 19-21; Mark 10-21; Romans 12:1; 2 Cor. 6:15-17.
- We believe that the true church consists of all those who have been born from above and united to Christ and are therefore members of that spiritual Body of which the Risen Lord Jesus Christ is The Head. I Cor. 12:12-13; I Thess. 4:13-18.
- We believe in the personality of Satan who deceiveth the whole world and in whose lap the world lieth. He is the god of this age. Rev. 12:9-10; Matthew 4:2-11; Isa. 14:12-17; John 8:44; I John 5:19.
- We believe in the eternal blessedness of the righteous and the eternal suffering of the wicked. Rev. 22; John 14:1-6; Matthew 25:46; Rev. 20.
